Ibn-Husein Muhammad was born in Brattleboro Vermont on January 30, 1980 and raised in the Mason Square Neighborhood of Springfield Massachusetts by his mother with his two brothers. Husein (H) is the first author/illustrator and founder of HBOOKZ publishing company.

He attended Springfield Central High School and upon his graduation in 1998 enlisted in the U.S Army. Husein was honorably discharged in 2001 and returned home where he worked for various companies for the next 5 years. Unable to find steady work which he enjoyed, Husein started to write, and he produced and self published his first 3 picture books; The Spider, Bologna Sandwich and The Man.

In 2010 after taking a 4 year break from writing Husein wrote 5 more books with renewed passion and determination to create a publishing company in his community that would be a lasting creative outlet for many years to come.
